Your Love for God

There is nothing more valuable in our lives than our connection to God.  Once we become aware of God’s great love for us and the sacrifice of his Son on the cross for our transgressions, we are filled with the desire to share that love with others.  Our love for God is demonstrated in the way we treat others.

“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ”  Ephesians 5:21

When we follow the teachings of Jesus, we take on a new identity – we take on the true servant spirit of Jesus.  We are no longer consumed with our personal desire – we are far more concerned with the needs of others.  We serve God by serving others.

“Know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do”  Ephesians 6:8

God smiles at every good deed we accomplish in service to others.  We are energized by the Holy Spirit every time we reach out to others in loving service.  It is this connection to God that protects us from the misdirection of the enemy.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes”  Ephesians 6:11

When we are filled with God’s truth and righteousness provided by our faith in Jesus and the salvation we’ve received, we take on a powerful shield against the enemy.  This protective shield is fortified by our continuous study of the Word of God.  We can therefore confront evil with confidence knowing that the awesome power of God is with us.

“Our struggle is against the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world, the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”  Ephesians 6:12

The battle between good and evil is real, but it has already been won. Jesus Christ conquered evil when he went to the cross and rose again on the third day.  When we walk with Jesus, evil no longer has any power in our lives.

“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”  Ephesians 6:17

Our connection to God allows us to stand strong against the enemy.  Our connection to God allows us to confidently share his love with others.  There is nothing more valuable in our lives than our connection to God.

“Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love”  Ephesians 6:24
