Turn Around

No matter who you are, Jesus came into the world to save you.  This world is filled with the devil’s deception.  It’s difficult to get through any day without being pushed into darkness and away from the light of Jesus.  Simply put, when we are overwhelmed by the dark side, all we need to do is turn around and seek the light.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”  John 3:17

When we turn toward Jesus and follow his teaching, we experience a spiritual awakening that opens up our journey into an eternal life in the presence of God.  There is no price to pay for this transition; Jesus paid the price on the cross.  Our salvation is a gift from God provided in response to our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  When we turn away from this world and turn toward Jesus, our lives take on a new meaning expressed in love.

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  John 8:12

When we publically proclaim our sincere understanding that Jesus is Lord and an exact representation of God the Father, we establish ourselves as true followers worthy of his reward.  God raised Jesus from the dead on our behalf and it is our inward trust in this event that connects us to God for all eternity.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

It is our duty as believers to point the way for others.  Those who feel their lives don’t matter, those who are lost, those who are scared, and those who are unknowingly looking for a savior, all need to be directed toward Jesus.  Love has come for us all.  That love is realized when we turn our backs on darkness and turn toward the light of Jesus.
