The Word of God

When you fill your heart with the Word of God, most importantly the teaching of Jesus, you place yourself on a solid path toward victory.

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”  Colossians 3:16 (NASB)

Let this be a time of worship to God.  Pray each prayer and add your own personal message to God.  Read each scripture as though reading it for the first time – listen carefully for the voice of God.  Listen to each song paying close attention to the lyrics provided.  These songs were carefully chosen.  Even if the music is not your favorite style of music, know that the musicians performing are sincerely making music to the Lord.  Try to feel the passion in their words and their musical expression.  Give thought to the message presented and confirm the truth therein by opening your Bible and taking some time to do your own personal study.  May you be greatly blessed.

Let’s Pray Together

Almighty Creator of the universe, watching over us all, we praise your holy name.  Guide us toward your approaching kingdom as loyal followers of your every desire.  Thank you for all that you provide in our lives.  Bless us Father with your goodness and mercy, as we stumble our way through this life, and provide us with the ability to bless others in the same manner.  Keep our minds ever vigilant to the disruptive powers of the evil one.  Guide us on a path that avoids destruction.  You alone are our protector and deliverer.  We ask these things in the Holy name of Jesus.  Amen.

The Word of God

The Bible, which is the Word of God, is your only true connection to God.  If you want to move closer to God, the best way is to open your Bible and read from his Word.  The Bible is not simply a historical record; it is the power of God in written form.  While each of the 66 books in the Bible were written by men, the text does not contain their own thoughts; the text contains the inspired Word of God.

“For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.”  1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NASB)

The Word of God is an awesome source of power and a revealing judge of character.  This is likely why some tend to shy away from God’s Word – some are afraid of what will be revealed.  The Word of God will indeed point out your faults, but it will also bring you to your knees in pursuit of salvation.

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”  Hebrews 4:12 (NASB)

When you fill your heart with the Word of God, most importantly the teaching of Jesus, you place yourself on a solid path toward victory.  Your immediate reward will be a heart filled with wisdom and gratitude that will literally sing with joy and thanksgiving.

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”  Colossians 3:16 (NASB)

Allow this song to fill your heart with joy.

Hold God’s Word in Your Heart

Every believer experiences God’s love through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  The Word of God confirms for us this truth.

“The love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”  Romans 5:5 (NASB)

Believers have been transformed by the Word of God into receptacles of God’s love which is sincerely shared with others in ways that honor God. Our new life as Christians holds us firmly in the hands of God for all eternity.

“Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.”  1 Peter 1:22-23 (NASB

The Word of God and the power of our salvation are one and the same.  We carry that power with us in our heart in the form of the Holy Spirit.  Our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus is a direct response to the Word of God.

“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:8-9 (NASB)

Praise God for sending His Son.  Praise God for providing us with the Bible to direct our steps.  Praise God for sending the Holy Spirit to guide us.  Our mission now is to process all that God has provided with our hearts – not our analytical human minds – we need to open the eyes of our heart to fully comprehend all that the Word of God bestows.

Allow this song to move your spirit.

There is No Turning Back

Once you have allowed the Word of God to point you in the right direction, there is no turning back.  Jesus brought the power of the Word of God to earth and shared the light of truth with all of us.

“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14 (NASB)

As believers we are held tightly in the loving arms of God.  God is with us every step of the way and in all circumstance.  No matter what befalls us in this life, God will make certain we are moving in the right direction and ultimately all will be made right.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10 (NASB)

As followers of Jesus Christ we are in his presence all the way up until the end of human history and his ultimate return; from there, the Word of God confirms, we will be with him for all eternity.

“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:20 (NASB)

Shout hallelujah!  Jump for joy!  The Word of God confirms your eternal destiny.
