“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16 (NASB)

Almighty Creator of the universe, watching over us all, we praise your holy name. Guide us toward your approaching kingdom as loyal followers of your every desire. Thank you for all that you provide in our lives. Bless us Father with your goodness and mercy, as we stumble our way through this life, and provide us with the ability to bless others in the same manner. Keep our minds ever vigilant to the disruptive powers of the evil one. Guide us on a path that avoids destruction. You alone are our protector and deliverer. We ask these things in the Holy name of Jesus. Amen.
Stepping into the spiritual presence of God is accomplished by turning your back on this world and reaching out to him through praise and worship. Number one on our list should be to praise God for sending his Son to save us from our sin and provide us with salvation. We worship God in “spirit and truth” when we acknowledge the work Jesus accomplished for us on the cross.
“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.” John 4:23 (NASB)
When we sing praises to God, we prepare our hearts to receive him. Our focus on music dedicated to the Lord helps to filter out the darkness of this world and allows the light of Jesus to shine. Once we find ourselves inside this spiritual space, we have the ability to more clearly hear God’s voice filling our mind with comforting thoughts and clear direction.
“Praise the Lord in song, for He has done excellent things; let this be known throughout the earth.” Isaiah 12:5 (NASB)
There is no limit to the amount of praise we can shower on our God – he deserves every ounce of praise we can deliver. We praise God for our mere existence, we praise God for our daily sustenance, we praise God for every good thing that has ever appeared in our lives, and we praise God for every good thing that is to follow.
“Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.” Psalm 47:6 (NASB)
Jesus died on our behalf. There is no greater love. That love should overwhelm us as we move closer to him in our praise and worship. Cry out to God right now. Express your sincere love for God right now as you prepare your heart for his presence wherever you are at this moment.
Let this song fill you spirit with God’s love.
There is a light that burns in the darkness
There is a hope that washes the fear away
There is a peace that settles around us
It is Your love that sets our hearts ablaze
There is a light that burns in the darkness
There is a hope that washes the fear away
There is a peace that settles around us
It is Your love that sets our hearts ablaze
Father we’re on our knees
With every heartbeat we bring you this offering
Lord come and fill this place
Father we’re crying out
Spirit we need you now
Glorious love surrounds us
Lord come and fill this place
There is a King that reigns in victory
There is a Mercy strong enough to save
We feel it rising up from the ashes
There is a Love that overcame the grave
There is a Love that overcame the grave
Father we’re on our knees
With every heartbeat we bring you this offering
Lord come and fill this place
Father we’re crying out
Spirit we need you now
Glorious love surrounds us
Lord come and fill this place
Lord come and fill this place
And I will worship you
I will worship you
I will worship you
Always

Lord come and fill this place
Father we’re crying out
Spirit we need you now
Glorious love surrounds us
Lord come and fill this place
And I will worship you
I will worship you

Sometimes, when we come before God, we are at a loss for words. We know what we want but we may be reluctant because we are not sure our desires are God’s will for our life. Of course, we want to approach God first with praise, then with thanksgiving, followed by our petitions for clear direction. Fortunately, as believers, we are supported by the guidance of the Holy Spirit who speaks to God on our behalf even when we are tripping over our words.
“The Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” Romans 8:26(NASB)
As followers of Jesus Christ, we have been declared righteous and therefore have access to God. That access is not limited to a specific time or place, or even a specific prayer ritual, but is an ongoing connection that never disconnects. Every challenge that comes into our life is experienced in that same moment by God who is already at work pointing us toward the resolution.
“The righteous cry, and the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17 (NASB)
Our relationship with God is that which gives us hope and makes it possible for us to endure difficult times. We know that God hears our cry when we are on our knees in prayer and when we are caught in a situation that has no obvious solution. Wherever you might be at this moment, God is listening and ready to respond to your every need.
“Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer.” Romans 12:12 (NASB)
When we stop trying to solve all of our problems on our own and begin submitting all of our problems to God through prayer, we open a new door of opportunity. God will answer our prayers through direct communication by filling our minds with clear direction, or he might bring someone into our life to point the way, or he may place the solution directly in our path for us to stumble over. God answers prayer in many ways. One thing is certain – nothing will happen if we don’t start praying.
Let this song lift your spirit.
Even among Christians there are some who have grown tired of waiting for Jesus to return. We have been waiting for over two thousand years and this world continues to descend into darkness. For those who are not true followers of Jesus Christ, it’s not hard to conclude that the God of the Bible is nothing more than a philosophy to love your neighbor – and that the God of the Bible doesn’t honestly exist. However, if you’ve trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior you know for a fact that he has filled your heart with the Holy Spirit and is very much alive today.
“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” Romans 8:9 (NASB)
Those who have yet to experience a relationship with Jesus are looking in all the wrong places for evidence of the existence of God. God is spirit and we find him all around us in the countless miracles we witness or hear about in the news. If God were not present in this world, the evil that battles for control would have already taken over. The fact that so much good continues to weave its way in and out of every difficult situation on earth clearly demonstrates God is in the fight and intends to win.
“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (NASB)
God is not dead. God is alive and living on the inside of every true follower of Jesus Christ. If you are a believer, I’m absolutely certain you feel God’s presence right now. You feel the life he provides coursing through your veins, you feel the Holy Spirit warm your heart, you feel God’s awesome presence standing firm against the darkness of this world – providing light – triumphantly leading the body of Christ to victory. Praise God for sending his Son! Praise God for the power of the Holy Spirit! Praise God for our eternal destiny!
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-19 (NASB)
Let this song lift your spirit.
Let love explode and bring the dead to life
A love so bold
To seek a revolution somehow
Let love explode and bring the dead to life
A love so bold
To bring a revolution somehow
Now I’m lost in Your freedom
In this world I’ll overcome
My God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
Roaring, He’s roaring, He’s roaring like a lion
Let hope arise and make the darkness hide
My faith is dead I need resurrection somehow
Now I’m lost in Your freedom
In this world I’ll overcome
My God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
Roaring, He’s roaring, He’s roaring like a lion
He’s roaring, He’s roaring
Let heaven roar and fire fall
Come shake the ground
With the sound of revival
Let heaven roar and fire fall
Come shake the ground
With the sound of revival
Let heaven roar (Let heaven roar) and fire fall
Come shake the ground
With the sound of revival
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
God’s not dead
He’s surely alive
He’s living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
He’s roaring, He’s roaring, He’s roaring like a lion
He’s roaring, He’s roaring, He’s roaring like a lion (Roaring like a lion)
His door is now open to you. You are in God’s presence. Don’t leave without Him. Keep Him with you throughout your day.
Go in peace.
