Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? Do you attend a regular worship service? Are you compelled to study the Bible? These are all signs God is calling you. As a born-again believer, you have become part of the body of Christ and you have a designated mission to fulfill. God has given you the necessary skills and talents and He’s expecting you to develop those skills and hone those talents so that you can put them to use on His behalf. Are you on task?
It’s not hard to get overwhelmed with life in this world and lose sight of our spiritual responsibilities. The devil wants us distracted and he works hard at getting us pointed in the wrong direction. We have each been given a special ability of some kind. We are all good at something. If you’re not aware of what you are good at, it may be because you are busy comparing yourself to others. Sometimes we get sidetracked trying to be like someone else rather than embracing our own God-given qualities. Don’t make that mistake. Every moment you waste going off in the wrong direction is a moment that could have been used in service to God.
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NASB)
Have you discovered your God given talent and put it to use serving others? Are you helping others achieve their full potential in service to God? Have you felt the power of the Holy Spirit assisting you in your service to God? These are all signs God is calling you to do even more. When God provides you with opportunity He is clearly demonstrating His trust in you. The devil will try to tell you all about your limitations. There are no limitations with God. Look at any limitations you might see in your way as opportunities to be more creative in your effort to further develop your service to God. There is no question you can do more. You may increase your service to God by teaching others to follow in your footsteps, or by encouraging those you have helped to help others, or by discovering new and more productive methods. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to other members in the body of Christ who are moving in the same direction and maximize each other’s potential by working together.
Do you have a sincere love for God? Do you have a sincere desire to help others? Are you willing to go the extra mile to serve God by serving others? These are all signs God is calling you. It’s up to you to cultivate your desire to serve by developing your God-given talents to their full potential. In addition, it’s up to you to protect your talent from attacks by the enemy by constantly leaning on the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you. God has designed you to be good at something. Everyone is good at something. And God wants you to put that talent to work serving Him by serving others.
Spend some time alone with God seeking clear direction and he will guide you toward your personal mission. Focus on what you are good at and look for the opportunities God is placing in your path. As you travel through your daily life, look for signs God is calling you and answer His call.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8 (NASB)
