Path to God’s Blessing

Salvation is the process of giving your heart to Jesus.  When a believer puts their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus as payment for their misdeeds; death no longer has the victory.  Eternal life in the kingdom of God is your guaranteed reward.  Praise the grace of God for this wonderful gift.  Our salvation is made real when we stop following the endless dead-ends of this world and turn toward the light of truth found in Jesus.  “If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”  (1 John 1:6)  The first step toward God’s blessing is to reflect the light of Jesus.

Walk with Jesus

Our ultimate goal as followers of Jesus is to become like Him in every way.  This is not something we will ever fully attain in this life; however, it should be our constant desire.  We continue on the path toward God’s blessing when we fill our hearts with a deep love for God and a constant desire to share that love with those around us.  “The one who says that he remains in Him ought, himself also, walk just as He walked.”  (1 John 2:6)  Everything we learn from the Bible comes alive when we share God’s love with the world.

Eternal Rewards

All the Bible study in the world is a waste of time if we don’t reach out to others with love in our hearts.  What good is attending church every Sunday if we don’t have a true servant’s spirit?  The rewards of this world are worthless trash compared to the awesome blessings gained through devotion to the teachings of Jesus.  “For you are all sons and daughters of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”  (Galatians 3:26)  The path toward God’s blessing is in the opposite direction of material wealth.

Recognition and status are empty and meaningless.  Everything this world claims to be valuable is empty and meaningless.  Most of this world’s recommendations come with hidden fees that will only make your life more difficult.  The path toward God’s blessing begins when we separate ourselves from this world and place our faith in the world to come.  “Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.”  (Colossians 3:2)  Earthly joy is only temporary.  God’s joy is eternal.

Follow Your Heart

Simply put, the path to God’s blessing moves away from this world and closer to the light of Jesus.  Making someone happy is far more rewarding than earning a fat paycheck.  Providing someone with the help they need is worth a great deal more than any material gain.  Serving God by serving others provides eternal wealth that outperforms all the compound interest your bank can deliver.  There is nothing intrinsically wrong with worldly possessions; the problem arises when these things mean more to you than God’s blessing.  Let your heart be your guide.  Follow the nudging of the Holy Spirit.  When you care about others more than you care about yourself – God’s blessing will follow.
