When the children of God gather together to worship Him, all of creation stands as a witness to His awesome power, His authority, and His never-ending love. We don’t need to look for reasons to praise God; they are all around us, in every aspect of our lives, and in every moment of every day.
“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness.” Psalm 150:1-2
As believers, we have a new identity and character that establishes a new relationship with God. Our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus eliminates our past indiscretions and paves the way for a new beginning guided by the Holy Spirit. We were once assigned to die as the result of our selfish nature, but are now reborn to an eternal life with Jesus. Every opportunity to praise God for all that He has done for us is a glorious celebration.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3
Praise God for sending His Son! Praise God for all the blessings He bestows. Even in difficult times, we praise God for walking with us until we find our way to a new blessing. Life in this world can be difficult and it’s important for us to understand this is God’s design. We are being prepared for our eternal existence. Our spirits need to be tempered with some degree of tragedy and joy mixed together in precisely the right amount. God is fully aware of our strengths and weaknesses and designed our lives to be a perfect prescription of challenge and reward. Praise God for the complex wisdom He passes on to us through our life experience. Everything good in our lives is accomplish through His mighty hand. All glory to God!
“Be exalted above the heavens, O God; let Your glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 57:11
God is the reason we come together in praise and worship. The venue in which we worship is not important, the leader of the worship service is not important, the musical worship team is not important – God is all that is important. Every aspect of our worship is a tool to help in our connection with God. Let your heart be filled with His love and carry that with you, sharing it with others, until your next worship experience.
