Jesus made it very clear that there is a world beyond this one – an eternal kingdom filled with love, joy, and peace.  The way to get to God’s eternal kingdom is to follow Jesus.  In fact, the only way to get to God’s eternal kingdom is to follow Jesus.  God’s eternal kingdom has very high standards – only those who possess the perfect love that Jesus demonstrated during his life here on earth, are allowed in God’s eternal kingdom.  Since no human is capable of perfect love, and because God wants everyone to have the opportunity to live in His eternal kingdom, He sent Jesus to be our guide.  Because humans are imperfect, they have been appointed a time to die; however, Jesus died on the cross on behalf of all those who place their faith and trust in him.  When we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are granted access to God’s eternal kingdom through the power of His perfect love.

Following the Teachings of Jesus

When we follow the teachings of Jesus on the road to God’s eternal kingdom, everything in life takes on a new meaning.  Even the most difficult journey is easier to endure when we know the destination is going to be filled with love, joy and peace.  But that’s not the only benefit of following Jesus.  Those who follow Jesus are also filled with the Holy Spirit to help direct their steps and provide protection from the enemy of God.  Jesus wants His followers to understand that there will be struggles along the way to God’s eternal kingdom, but we will never be alone.  God is with us every step of the way.  Difficulties, designed by God to help us grow in wisdom and knowledge, will be seasoned with blessings that will keep us safe and pointed in the right direction.

Christianity

Jesus described his followers as a large plant growing from a tiny seed.  He made it clear that the size of this movement would grow to enormous proportions.  Starting with twelve apostles, the followers of Jesus have grown to billions of people around the world.  This miraculous growth of Christianity that continues thousands of years after the ministry of Jesus is solid proof that this is by God’s design.  When we follow the teachings of Jesus, we become a part of God’s well-established plan.  When we follow the teachings of Jesus, we are part of the family of God, and are therefore empowered by the collective spirit of fellowship with one another.

Our Guarantee

As a Christian, Jesus is in complete control of our eternal existence.  As a Christian, the Holy Spirit is at our disposal every moment of every day.  As a Christian, we are children of God able to connect with our Creator through prayer at any time, day or night.  There is no guarantee that our lives will be without difficulties; however, we are guaranteed that every aspect of our life will ultimately be to our advantage.  We are also guaranteed that God will always be with us.  And finally, we are guaranteed a place in God’s eternal kingdom, filled with love, joy and peace.
