One Thing Remains

There is one essential attribute of God that powers the universe. This one thing never changes and is constantly at our disposal in every situation. Without this central ingredient, we are empty and meaningless. This one thing identifies our God. God is love.

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

Love is the true sign of a follower of Jesus Christ. Everything else in our lives is temporal and will one day disappear, but love goes on forever. Love is our direct connection to God and is that which connects us to all other believers. When we approach any situation with love in our heart, we can do no wrong. Love is the spiritual force that will move us in God’s direction and away from the enemy’s manipulation.

“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” 1 Corinthians 13:8

Love is greater than anything else because God is love, and He has given His love to all believers, and He has commanded all believers to love one another. Our primary mission as believers is to share God’s love with others. We serve God by serving others with love.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

There is nothing that can overcome God’s love. There is no obstacle that God’s love cannot overpower. It is God’s love that conquered the grave and provided believers with the gift of eternal life. No matter how dark our lives become, God’s love is always there to carry us through to the other side. This awesome power is inside of every believer and is our never-ending source of spiritual fuel guiding us toward the kingdom of God.
