One in Christ

Followers of Jesus Christ are no longer individuals struggling to find their way in an increasingly hostile world. Followers of Jesus are a new creation that has become one with Christ. We have been called to a new life as a member of the body of Christ.

“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received” Ephesians4:1

As believers, every decision we make should be with God in mind. Every decision should put others above ourselves. Our demeanor should be filled with understanding, caring, and love.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” Ephesians 4:2

If we are indeed one with the Spirit, there is no room for confrontation, arguments, or discord. Our connection to God keeps us all pointed in the same direction. Of course, there are forces in this world that will try to push us apart, but we can’t let that happen.

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” Ephesians 4:3

When we are challenged by opposing points of view within the body of Christ our focus has to be on solutions rather than choosing sides and fueling division. When our hearts are aligned through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, it is easy to find common ground.

“One Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” Ephesians 4:5-6

Following the teachings of Jesus provides the answer to every difficult situation. Praise God for providing us with the written record of His instruction. When we diligently study the Word of God, we find peace in knowing that we are all traveling this road together.

“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching” Ephesians 4:14

This essential scripture is a wonderful reminder of who we are as children of God. It’s easy to get distracted in this world and sometimes we lose sight of what is truly important. Any little crack in our spiritual awareness is all the enemy needs to infiltrate our peace of mind, and disrupt our path forward. The Word of God is the sword of the spirit and can be used to vanquish the enemy in every battle. Keep you Bible close by and study diligently to show yourself approved. You will be greatly blessed for your effort.
