Let Love Win

The love that God provides is able to endure without complaint, withstand temptation, and maintain a peaceful spirt.  God’s love gives kind, thoughtful assistance to those in need.  When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are filled with a love that renounces selfish endeavors and seeks the well-being of others.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”  1 Corinthians 13:4-5

While it’s true we are in a battle with the dark forces of this world that are actively pushing us away from the light of truth, we are to engage our enemy with love rather than weapons of war.  Jesus teaches us that violence begets violence.  In like manner, a sincere loving heart can dilute the wrath of an attacker and render them harmless.

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”  Matthew 26:52

Love is our primary spiritual weapon.  The Holy Spirit is the fuel that sustains our spiritual power.  Our battle arsenal also includes the Word of God, our unwavering faith, and our devotion to prayer; these are the incredibly effective tools that can destroy the schemes of the enemy.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”  2 Corinthians 10:4

God’s love is the connection that binds all believers together.  God’s love is filled with truth that can only be spiritually appraised.  God’s love is a gift that we don’t deserve and empowers us to go well beyond our own ability to serve God by serving others.  There is nothing more powerful than God’s love.  When we step away from this world and embrace the love God provides, there is nothing that can defeat our efforts.
