God speaks to us through His Son Jesus. God is revealed through Jesus who completely shares the divine nature. Indeed, the world was created through Jesus. Standing before Jesus is the same as standing directly in front of God. The experience is unimaginable.
“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:1-3
Jesus is on his way back to this earth. All those who have placed their faith in him, those living and those deceased, will join Jesus when he arrives and escort him on the final leg of his journey. Jesus will then take his place as King and rule this world for a thousand years.
“Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17
We will all one day stand before Jesus. Believers will be judged on the basis of their time spent serving God by serving others. Each will be rewarded in accordance to their good works. This is a moment we all look forward to while at the same time fearing our ability to respond appropriately. Standing in the presence of our Lord and Savior will certainly be an experience like no other.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive compensation for his deeds done through the body, in accordance with what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
This truth should be our guiding light. When we stand face-to-face with Jesus, nothing will be hidden. He knows our every deed both good and bad. This is a meeting that will be completely dominated by Jesus and precisely how we will respond to the moment is something that is difficult to imagine.
