Here I Am to Worship

Visiting God is a simple process of worship.  We enter His gate by joyously acknowledging all He has done in our life.  We stand before the court of the King when we praise His holy nature and character.  We can visit God absolutely anywhere.  He is available twenty-four hours a day.  There is no special building we need to go to.  We can visit God through our worship right here, right now.

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him, bless His name.”  Psalm 100:4

Jesus tells us we are to worship in spirit and truth.  Followers of Jesus are identified not by where they worship, but by who they worship.  We worship the Father through His Son who provided us with salvation.  Jesus is truth.  God is spirit.

“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.”  John 4:23

When we humble ourselves before God with meekness, demonstrating total dependency on Him for everything good in our lives, we place ourselves firmly in His presence.  We can do this at church, in our home, on top of a mountain, or wherever you happen to be at this moment.  This is perhaps the most important aspect of our relationship with God and it should not be neglected.

“Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”  Psalm 95:6

We can never fully comprehend the price Jesus paid for our salvation.  Every day our hearts should be overflowing with praise for his great sacrifice.  Every day we should spend some time bowing down before the King in thanksgiving, praise, and worship.
