“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16 (NASB)

Father God, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, we worship and adore you. Fill our hearts with that which is your will and control our steps as we celebrate your approaching kingdom. We look to you for all our basic needs and thank you for all that you provide. Please forgive us Father for all the mistakes we make along the way and soften our hearts so that we may forgive others. Keep us safe from the enemy who wanders about looking to devour our souls. Fill our minds with your wisdom and our hearts with your love. We ask these things in the Holy name of Jesus. Amen.
Each and every person created by God is completely unique – including you. We each travel our own personal path in this world. We have been designed by God to be dependent on him, not as a punishment, but as an act of love. We become one with God when we acknowledge that dependency. We are then transformed spiritually and filled with the Holy Spirit. This transformation grants us victory over the demonic powers of this world.
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-7(NASB)
When we trust in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our salvation, we, like Jesus, are born again into a new life – an eternal life.
“For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18 (NASB)
As reborn spiritual beings, we travel through this life in search of truth, following the light of Jesus. Our ultimate goal is to witness the return of Jesus, either in this life or in our life to come. When Jesus returns to establish his kingdom, the whole world will witness the event.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NASB)
It was God’s never-ending love that sent his Son to die on the cross on our behalf. It was the resurrection of Jesus that demonstrated his power over death and confirmed our salvation. Now we stand ready for the glorious day of his return.
Let this song confirm your understanding.
One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now is ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One bringing
My Savior Jesus is mine
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
Glorious day
Oh glorious day
As members of God’s spiritual family, followers of Jesus Christ are known as children of God. There is no better place to be than in the loving arms of our God. To the uninformed – those who have turned their back on God – Christians appear to be foreigners. This is as it should be.
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” 1 John 3:1 (NASB)
Followers of Jesus Christ are members of the Christian community and demonstrate their faith by loving others. By acknowledging our sinful nature and trusting in Jesus, we are transformed into receptacles of God’s love and it is our duty to share that love.
“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16(NASB)
Love is the true sign of a follower of Jesus. Many signs and wonders have passed through the church; however, love is the only one that remains constant. Love is the engine that drives our relationship with God.
“Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.” 1 Corinthians 13:8 (NASB)
The endless love of God is the awesome power that fuels the universe. There is no greater force, or power, or guiding principle. Love is central to understanding, worshiping, and knowing God.
Let this song fill your spirit.
Jesus identifies our God as the only One who is truly good. Right and wrong are established by God. Our salvation is delivered through God’s mercy. Our eternal life is a gift from God.
“And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” Matthew 19:17 (NASB)
God’s goodness is the foundation on which we stand as Christians. When we trust God, when we seek to follow his commands, when we fill our hearts with his love, we find shelter from the dark world around us.
“O taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” Psalm 34:8 (NASB)
Every unique individual created by God has access to his grace and his awesome love. No one is excluded from experiencing the goodness of God.
“The Lord is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.” Psalm 145:9(NASB)
From now until the end of time, God will be with us guiding our every step. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have a special relationship with God that transcends the understanding of those who have turned their back on God; nevertheless, God is still available to those lost souls. God’s love never fails and never gives up. God’s desire is for all to turn to him and accept his warm embrace. Our mission as Christians is to point the way to the goodness of God.
Let this song lift your spirit.
