Followers of Jesus Christ

As followers of Jesus Christ, our sins have been forgiven through our faith in him and by the grace of God.  We have been granted an eternal life free from the evil that permeates the world we now inhabit.  What a glorious day that will be when Jesus returns.

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”  Colossians 1:13 (NIV)

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are filled with the Holy Spirit.  We connect with God through prayer and the Holy Spirit guides us toward God’s answer.  Every step we take is filled with the opportunity to experience God’s awesome power.

“We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.”  Colossians 1:9 (NIV)

The Holy Spirit’s nudging will guide us closer to God by providing us with opportunities to serve others with the love He provides.  Our constant study of the Word of God will keep our minds in tuned with God’s desire.

“So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”  Colossians 1:10 (NIV)

Followers of Jesus Christ have Power

Knowing God is with us provides strength beyond measure.   There is nothing this world can do to separate us from the love God has for us.  We can trust completely that He will be with us no matter what we are going through.

“Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience” Colossians 1:11 (NIV)

Followers of Jesus Christ look forward to their eternal life in the kingdom of God.  We are filled with joy in all circumstance as we travel toward our eternal destination where our joy will be made complete.

“Giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.”  Colossians 1:12 (NIV)

Our hearts are full of praise for our wonderful Father in heaven and our hope is in His glorious Son’s return.  We continuously give thanks for our undeserved reward and seek nothing more than to do His will as we travel this road to victory.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”  Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
