By the grace of God, through our faith in Jesus Christ, we’ve been given hope that one day all evil will be destroyed and we will live eternally in the kingdom of heaven. Every moment spent in this world is preparation for that day. God is giving each and every one of us a unique tailored-made spiritual education. By far, the most important ingredient in that training is the understanding of the true meaning of love. Jesus came to earth to demonstrate precisely what it means to live a life empowered by love.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35
It’s not always easy to put the needs of others above your own needs, but that’s what we’re called to do. Even when we’re facing our own personal struggle, we need to have a heart that’s open to the needs of others.
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:9-10
God never stops loving us. God’s love is always available for us to share with others. No matter how difficult our life becomes, God continues to empower our path forward with his love.
“We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16
When evil forces disrupt our lives we need to call on God for strength and demonstrate our sincere trust in him by continuing to nurture those around us with love.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Praise God for sending His Son. Praise God for giving us the hope of a glorious tomorrow. Praise God for his never-ending love.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
