Christians are Blessed

Imagine if you can what it would be like to be in the presence of Jesus Christ.  Looking into His eyes, you would be looking into all eternity.  Talking with Him would be a conversation with someone who knows all, sees all, and understands you completely.  Every word Jesus shared with you would be a light into your soul filled with truth that could not be denied.  Walking side-by-side with Jesus would certainly bring peace – total security – completeness.  What a great blessing it must have been for those who were blessed with His presence.

“Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.”  John 12:35 (NIV)

The world we live in is filled with darkness.  There are many who are stumbling around in the dark.  As believers in Jesus Christ we are to light the way for those lost souls.  Followers of Jesus have been blessed with light and truth.  We have been commissioned by God to be the light in this world.

“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”  2 Corinthians 4:6 (NIV)

Christians should carefully consider every moment of every day.  Christians should be fully aware of the evil that lives in this world and actively seek to avoid and expose its danger.  Christians should be focused on finding the path God has placed before them.

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”  Ephesians 5:15-17 (NIV)

The devil should not be underestimated.  He is a clever and highly capable opponent.  He is able to keep unbelievers running around in all the wrong directions.  If believers are not careful, the devil will use his powers of manipulation to get them to make a wrong turn as well.

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”  2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV)

Living in a world filled with evil is a challenge.  God has placed us here for a reason.  We need to stay focused on Him and always be vigilant – cautious – and smarter than our enemy.

“We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.”  1 John 5:19 (NIV)

Praise God that we have been transformed!  Praise God for sending His Son.  Praise God for giving us the power to overcome the evil of this world.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
